Details

Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) is primarily funded by HM Government as “Grant in Aid” (GiA) and this is provided as either capital (to construct new schemes) or revenue (to maintain existing assets, and for activities such as warning and informing on flood risk). The other sources of FCERM funding are the local levy (LL) raised by local authorities, and Partnership Funding (PF) which are contributions from communities and businesses to help fund specific schemes.

More information on the funding of flood and coastal erosion risk management in England can be found on the page Funding for flood and coastal erosion risk management in England - GOV.UK

Our Environment and Business (E&B) work takes the form of Regulation which is funded through charges on regulated organisations, and wider environmental protection funded by GiA for activities such as our work on cleaner and healthier rivers.
