We were asked for information on spending reductions carried out or proposed since May 2010, with the details of projects reduced or terminated and external organisations or projects that have lost funding by the department.
The Wales Office does not fund any external organisations or projects. Our spending review settlement has built in savings each year, and we will be looking at a variety of ways to reduce our costs over the next four years, including combining our back office services with the Scotland and Northern Ireland Offices. We have already achieved some significant savings by introducing a ban on all first class rail travel for the ministerial team and staff.
