Information request
As an arm’s-length body of the Department for Work and Pensions, you will be working within the financial frameworks using the Financial Reporting Manual (FReM) under directions issued by the Secretary of State and to the HM Treasury OSCAR system for the preparation financial submissions including the Supply Estimates and Whole of Government Accounts (WGA).
The ERP systems and processes you provision for these requirements are guided by the Cabinet Office ‘Shared Services Strategy for Government’. For the purposes of this question, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software includes the scope Human Resources, Payroll, Procurement and Finance.
Around 2013, two ‘Independent Shared Service Centres’ were established which are coming to their contract ends in the next year or so. These are known as ISSC1 and ISSC2.
This question relates to how your departmental systems are currently provisioned.
Question 1: Is your department on a shared service or standalone?
Question 2: If standalone, what is the underlying application technology used for HR, Finance, Payroll and Procurement?
Question 3: When is the provision of your current software due to be reviewed?
Response
The Social Security Advisory Committee is a statutory independent non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions.
The Committee does not hold any of the information you have requested. Our information technology systems and support is arranged by the Department for Work and Pensions.
