Wales Office response to Freedom of Information request ‘Staff accommodation and travel costs’
Published 9 February 2011
Please find below information relating to FOI request ‘Staff accommodation and travel costs’.
We were asked for details of all costs for accommodation, travel, food and drink incurred by the staff at the Wales Office from when the coalition government was established in May 2010 to 11 January 2011.
The information is shown below.
Accommodation for staff on official business | £12,432.64 |
Travel costs for staff on official business | £59,971.89 |
This compares to accommodation costs of £26,790.12 over the corresponding period a year previously (a saving of 53%). Similarly, the Department spent £101,216 on rail travel alone over the same period a year ago, demonstrating again the significant efficiency savings we have provided (50%).
It is not possible to disaggregate the cost of food and drink.
