Details

The standards for children in the youth justice system define the minimum expectation for all agencies that provide statutory services to ensure good outcomes for children. They are set by the Secretary of State for Justice on the advice of the Youth Justice Board (YJB).

The standards are underpinned by the YJB’s case management guidance which give justice agencies detail on how to achieve those positive outcomes at every contact a child has with the justice system.

This report looks at standard 2: at court and explores patterns and themes including what is working well and what needs to improve.
