Details

The UK and EU have agreed to terms on a Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, which came into force on 1 January 2021. This agreement contains provisions related to subsidy control.

Assisted Areas are places where government can offer additional financial support to businesses under European Commission state aid rules.

This document covers what Assisted Area status can offer. The different types of Assisted Areas are shown on the 2014 to 2020 UK map.
