Departments have confirmed that, where applicable, they have fully complied with the guidance when procuring steel for their major projects.

Procurement pipeline 2023

The steel pipeline shows how the government plans to use more than 8.1 million tonnes of steel over the next decade on infrastructure projects such as:

  • High Speed 2 (HS2)
  • the maintenance and upgrading of the UK’s motorway network
  • the construction of schools and hospitals
