Professor David Main, Chair of the Animals in Science Committee, has written to Lord Sharpe of Epsom (Home Office), the Hon George Freeman MP (Department for Science, Innovation and Technology), and the Hon Rebecca Pow MP (Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) about interdepartmental collaboration in the strategic direction of the use of animals in science, specifically changes to enable progress towards encouraging greater scientific innovation that will help reduce the use of animals.
