Civil Service Director Leadership Programme

1. Support for your transition into a Civil Service director role
The Civil Service Leadership Academy and senior leaders from across government have designed a 12 month Civil Service Director Leadership Programme which helps you further develop into your Civil Service director role.
2. Civil Service Director Leadership Programme
Directors tell us that when they reflect back on their move into a director role, building a trusted director network and investing the time and energy into considering how they approached their first year in role was of immense value in the short and longer term.
In our Director Leadership Programme we aim to curate the space, conditions and process for you to transition successfully into your director role. You’ll form a cohort with your fellow directors and be contributing to the development and support of a community of your peers, who are in similar career stages as you.
3. What does the Director Leadership Programme involve?
Through our leaders teaching leaders approach we will host workshops in which you will work with senior leaders across the Civil Service to learn from their real life experience and be supported by expert facilitation. We will tailor and co-design sessions with you to be actively working on your personal leadership focus areas to help you thrive as a leader whilst working with the future challenges ahead. Reflection, inclusion and systems leadership are themes that are woven throughout the entire programme.
Over the 12 months the Director Leadership Programme includes:
- the director launch event
- three director workshops with supporting action learning sets
- a webinar series exploring inclusive leadership through the lens of positive psychology
- co-coaching / skype - sessions with a peer
- a programme finale event
