Details

Many of the Department for Transport’s statistics are compiled from surveys that are sent to businesses (such as bus operators and freight hauliers) or local authorities. We make annual estimates of the cost to these organisations of completing our surveys, usually a cost in staff time. Estimates of DfT’s total compliance costs for surveys from 2006 to 2007 onwards can be found in the document attached.
