This application is for the new interception chamber and CSO at Victoria Embankment. This new asset is an integral part of the Thames Tideway Tunnel system designed to reduce CSO spills to the River Thames. Flows from the Regent Street/Victoria catchment will be diverted to the Thames Tideway Tunnel for treatment at Becton Sewage Treatment Works and discharges to the River Thames would only be made when all the conditions within the Thames Tideway Tunnel Operating Techniques document are met. Once the Thames Tideway Tunnel becomes fully operational there will be a significant decrease in the number, frequency and duration of CSO releases to the River Thames. This asset is to replace the existing Regent Street CSO.
