During week 27, the number of NHS 111 calls and online assessments for insect bites increased across all age groups.
GP in-hours consultation rates for conjunctivitis and allergic rhinitis decreased in line with seasonally expected trends.

During week 27, the number of NHS 111 calls and online assessments for insect bites increased across all age groups. There has been a slight increase in NHS 111 calls for difficulty breathing.

During week 27, GP in-hours consultation rates for conjunctivitis, allergic rhinitis and insect bites decreased in line with seasonally expected trends.

GP out-of-hours syndromic surveillance system
Daily GP out-of-hours contact data was not received from 4 August 2022 until 31 March 2023 due to technical problems. We have been working closely with our data provider and the daily syndromic feed recommenced on 1 April 2023. We are currently evaluating the daily data received and will resume publication of the weekly bulletin when this process is complete.

Emergency department syndromic surveillance system
During week 27, ED attendances for all respiratory indicators remained stable.

During week 27, increases were observed in the ‘Difficulty breathing’, ‘Cardiac/respiratory arrest’ and ‘Injuries’ indicators.
