During week 43, most acute respiratory infection (ARI) indicators, including GP in-hours upper respiratory tract infections and NHS 111 ARI calls, were stable overall. There were however further increases observed in emergency department (ED) and GP in-hours bronchiolitis indicators in children age under 5 years, in line with seasonally expected levels and trends. There were further decreases noted in COVID-19-like ED attendances and GP in-hours consultations.
Remote health advice syndromic surveillance system
During week 43, NHS 111 triaged calls for acute respiratory infections remained stable overall and below expected levels, but calls continued to increase in children aged under 5 years.

GP in hours syndromic surveillance system
During week 43, GP in-hours consultation rates upper and lower respiratory tract infections were stable and within expected levels. There was a further increase observed in bronchiolitis consultations, particularly in children aged under 5 years, but rates remain in line with seasonally expected activity. The COVID-19-like consultation rate continued to decrease across all age groups.

GP out-of-hours syndromic surveillance system
During week 43, GP out-of-hours contacts for acute respiratory infections remained stable overall and in line with seasonally expected levels.

Emergency department syndromic surveillance system
During week 43, ED attendances for acute respiratory infections continued to increase, particularly in children aged under 5 years. There were also further increases in acute bronchiolitis/bronchitis attendances in children aged under 5 years, following expected seasonal trends. There were further decreases in COVID-19-like attendances during week 43.

Ambulance syndromic surveillance system
During week 43, daily ambulance calls for difficulty breathing were stable and similar to seasonally expected levels.
