Details

The Tailored Review of the Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission (MACC) took place in winter 2018 to 2019 as part of the Government’s public bodies reform programme. Tailored reviews require all eligible bodies to undergo a thorough examination of their functions, form, performance and governance at least once during a Parliament. The review makes recommendations in these areas, while concluding that the MACC runs a high-quality and well-managed programme that contributes to strengthening the UK’s relations with the US.

The MACC, established in 1953, is a non-departmental public body that commemorates the post-war assistance received by the United Kingdom from the United States under the Marshall Plan. The commission administers the Marshall Scholarship programme, allowing gifted US students with leadership potential to study postgraduate degrees in the UK.
