Tailored reviews are periodic reviews that provide assurance and challenge about the continuing need, efficiency and good governance of public bodies. All tailored reviews are carried out in line with the Cabinet Office Tailored Reviews: Guidance on Reviews of Public Bodies.

As a non-departmental public body, the Social Security Advisory Committee (SSAC) is subject to a tailored review at least once in the lifetime of a Parliament. SSAC was subject to a previous triennial review in 2015. This review will consider the implementation of recommendations made in the previous one.
