Taking Teaching Further: impact evaluation feasibility study

Details

Each round of Taking Teaching Further was divided into 2 strands:

  • strand 1 provided financial support for industry professionals to become further education teachers
  • strand 2 provided funding for industry and provider innovation projects

The process evaluation looks at how strands 1 and 2 of Taking Teaching Further operated and what participants gained.

The evaluation:

  • allowed an understanding of Taking Teaching Further that could lead to improvements for later rounds
  • sought to identify good practice and scalable policies that could be put in place as part of a wider programme
  • highlighted lessons for us to share with the further education sector

The impact evaluation feasibility study looks at the prospects for implementing an impact evaluation for future rounds of strand 1 using a:

  • randomised controlled trial design
  • non-random comparison group design

The data tables contain data from:

  • providers’ responses to surveys carried out in rounds 1 and 2 of Taking Teaching Further
  • teacher surveys

They present collated, anonymised data of individual survey questions.
