Tarmac Trading Limited: application made to abstract water

Tarmac Trading Limited has applied to the Environment Agency to vary an existing abstraction licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number 5/31/13/*G/0088/R01 which authorises the abstraction of water from a groundwater fed lagoon at National Grid Reference (NGR) TF 13627 07432.
The variation applied for is as follows:
An increase in abstraction quantities from:
- 8 cubic meters per hour to 152 cubic metres per hour
- 25 cubic meters per day to 1,520 cubic metres per day
- 7,150 cubic metres per year to 364,800 cubic metres per year
- Between 01 January and 31 December inclusive in each year.
The applicant also wishes to vary the purpose of the licence from concreate production to mineral washing. The application also includes a request to discharge water into the Maxy Cut at NGR TF 13506 07238.
