Tarmac Trading Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number SW/043/0028/008 to abstract water from underground strata comprising of Poole Formation sand and gravels at Plumley Farm, Harbridge, Hampshire for the purposes of dewatering and mineral washing.
The variation applied for is to increase dewatering volumes from 29,406 cubic metres per year to 883,008 cubic metres per year, increase mineral washing volumes from 58,290 cubic metres per year to 373,650 cubic metres per year and aggregate the mineral washing volume to licence serial number SW/043/0028/001 which authorises abstraction from the Hamer Brook at Plumley Farm.
They have also applied to change the abstraction point from National Grid Reference SU 12372 09798 to the area within the boundary formed by straight lines running between the following National Grid References: SU 11378 10767, SU 12202 10853, SU 12868 09375 and SU 11533 09274.
