This document sets the government’s vision for the future of tax administration in the United Kingdom, designed to improve its resilience, effectiveness and support for taxpayers.

As part of this vision, the document sets out a roadmap for the extension of Making Tax Digital, and opens up a wider conversation on longer term reforms to the tax administration system.

This is a 10-year strategy. The government’s ambition over the next few years is to make substantive progress, but also to lay the foundations for further reforms in the period to 2030.
