It relates to local authority maintained schools, academies (including free schools) and non-maintained special schools (NMSS) in England.
Methodology
This document sets out the methodology for the teachers’ pay additional grant (TPAG) 2024 to 2025. This includes guidance on how we will allocate funding in 2024 to 2025 for both mainstream schools and special schools and alternative provision (AP) schools.
Conditions of grant
This document sets out the terms and conditions that local authorities, academies and NMSS must follow.
Allocations
We have published school level allocations showing the funding allocated for 2024 to 2025 for mainstream and special schools.
Payments
Local authorities and academies will receive their payments for 2024 to 2025 in 2 tranches. Payments will be made in May 2024 for local authorities, and June 2024 for academies, to cover April 2024 to August 2024; and in October 2024 for local authorities, and November 2024 for academies, to cover September 2024 to March 2025.

We have added the October teachers' pay additional grant allocations for mainstream schools; this excludes new and growing schools who will receive their second payment in early 2025.

We have amended sections 3.2 and 5.2 of the methodology document to explain the data sources for the allocation calculations, and accordingly revised the TPAG allocation table to clarify the calculation of the grant.

We have published the conditions of grant and updated sections 3.2, 4.2 and 5.2 of the methodology to give the current position concerning high needs and additional costs. We have also published spreadsheets showing the 2024 to 2025 allocations for mainstream and special schools.
