  • school teachers
  • governing bodies and their representatives

From the 2023 to 2024 financial year, teachers’ pension employer contribution grant (TPECG) funding for early years has been rolled into the hourly rates for the early years entitlements funding for 3 and 4-year-olds. For maintained nursery schools, their share of the TPECG has been allocated through their supplementary funding.

For the full 2023 to 2024 financial year, we will continue to provide sixth forms and 16 to 19 schools with the teachers’ pension employer contribution grant, as they are not funded through their NFF or core allocations.

Allocations

The grant will be paid based on the per pupil rates set out in ‘TPECG April to August 2023 allocations: data sources’. Allocations for the second half of the financial year were published in October 2023.

Guidance on Pension grants for schools, local authorities and music hubs has information on how allocations were calculated.
