Details
The Teesport (Extension of Limits) Harbour Revision Order (“HRO”) amends the limits of the harbour within which the applicant exercises jurisdiction as statutory harbour authority at the Ports of Tees and Hartlepool to include an additional area of land (known as South Bank) which is adjacent to a part of the River Tees (that part of the River being within the current limits of jurisdiction of the applicant).
The order amends Schedule 2 to the Tees and Hartlepools Port Authority Act 1966, which provides for the existing limits of the Ports of Tees and Hartlepool, to include the additional area as shown on the harbour limits plan for the HRO.
A statutory 42-day public consultation on the HRO ran from 7 June 2023 until 18 July 2023.
The MMO approved the making of the Order on 9 September 2024, details of the decision-making process can be viewed in the Harbour Revision Order and decision report attached to this page. The Order will be laid before parliament on 12 September 2024 and will come into force on 3 October 2024.
