Details

Research developing statistical models to estimate the potential speed changes on urban roads in the future. This research was used to improve modelling capabilities of the National Transport Model version 5.

The research calculated estimations, through the use of historical vehicle GPS data (Teletrac Navman data) at urban areas of England, in relation to:

  • urban characters, such as population density
  • road classifications

The research was completed in 2020.
