This research tested the performance of 3 symbols to represent electric vehicle (EV) charging points on road traffic signs.

The research aimed to identify the symbol that:

• was most accurately interpreted
• was most consistently remembered
• stood out best in visually busy contexts

It was conducted through an online experiment with 1,107 drivers living in England and 15 in-depth interviews.
