Thames Estuary 2100 Plan: announcement of determination of significant environmental effects
Published 1 November 2022
This announcement of determination of significant environmental effects was prepared following the principles of The Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations 2004 (SI 2004 1633).
Thames Estuary 2100 Plan
The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to produce an update of the Thames Estuary 2100 Plan in 2023.
A strategic environmental assessment (SEA) screening determination report has been produced as part of the Thames Estuary 2100 Plan 10-Year Review. A SEA was published in 2009 for the first Thames Estuary (TE) 2100 Plan, which was published in 2012. The Plan is currently being reviewed and updated and will be published in 2023.
The Environment Agency has determined that the Plan is unlikely to result in new or additional significant effects on the environment and does not intend to undertake an SEA and prepare an environmental report in respect of the updated Plan at this time.
Anyone wishing to make representations in relation to the SEA screening determination should do so in writing to the address below within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice.
Members of the public may inspect and/or obtain a copy of the determination and the accompanying statement of reasons from:
