This document sets out the CMA’s ambitions for consumer protection: the positive impact its work will have on growing the economy by promoting consumer trust and confidence, while deterring poor corporate practices.

It sets out the approach it will take under the new consumer protection regime, including:

  • how the CMA will reflect the framework of pace, proportionality, predictability and process
  • likely areas of focus
  • what stakeholders such as businesses and consumer groups, and other enforcers can expect

Alongside this, the CMA has published final guidance on unfair commercial practices.
