Details
This is the twelfth annual published summary of the defence equipment plan. Building on the 2022 summary, it sets out our plans for the next 10 years to deliver and support the equipment our armed forces need to do the jobs we ask of them.
The Permanent Secretary sent a letter to the Public Accounts Committee on 4 December 2023 with an update on the department’s equipment plan. There was a small error in one of the charts: figure 2 did not display the correct data. The updated version of the original letter with a corrected figure 2 is now linked above.
The error meant that the upper bound for equipment costs between 2024/2025 and 2032/2033 was incorrect. The error was limited to the chart and did not affect the underlying data in the supplementary data tables, the commentary or the data used by the National Audit Office for their report.
