The scheme enables eligible residents to purchase a leasehold interest (‘share’) in their current social home on similar terms and at a similar cost to if they had purchased their Grenfell home through the statutory Right to Buy scheme.

The information provides step-by-step guides on how to engage with the Grenfell Assisted Home Ownership Scheme’s application process. There are guides for:

  • households who wish to use the scheme to purchase a share in their home, whose current landlord is the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea (RBKC);

  • households who wish to use the scheme to purchase a share in their home, whose current landlord is someone other then RBKC (e.g. a housing association or different local authority);

  • solicitors who are acting for households in their purchase of a share in their current home through the scheme. If you are a resident who wishes to use the scheme, please make sure that your solicitor sees a copy of this guide; and

  • landlords who are currently renting to residents eligible for the scheme.
