This direction came into force on 14 August 2023.
Under this direction, any owner or agent of an aircraft, owner, agent or operator of a ship or operator of an international rail service required to provide passenger and service information to the Home Office must provide the information in the form and manner specified. The information must also be provided in an electronic form that is compatible with the technology used by the Home Office and by means of a system which enables the owner, agent or operator to send and receive communications relating to the information submitted.
In respect of the provision of Passenger Name Record (PNR) data by the owner or agent of an aircraft or ship or the operator of an international rail service, the direction specifies the data formats and transmission protocols which must be used.
This direction revokes and replaces The Immigration (Form and Manner of Passenger Information) Direction 2018.
