Report on research exploring the extent bank lending has declined to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) following the financial crisis in 2008. Aims to provide evidence on the impact of the financial crisis on the availability and cost of bank debt to SMEs and collateral requirements on bank debt. Provides context for the Breedon review of business finance and alternatives to traditional bank lending for SMEs.
