In 2023, a representative sample of 1,350 businesses were interviewed initially and 30 follow-up interviews examined issues in more depth.

The survey looked at:

  • The experiences of Mid-sized businesses in dealing with HMRC
  • Perceptions of current tax administration
  • Attitudes towards tax compliance
