The National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of Crowdundle Beck at Acorn Bank, Temple Sowerby, Penrith, Cumbria, at National Grid Reference NY 61791 28266.

Water will be obstructed or impeded to enhance fish passage by removing an existing weir structure at Acorn Bank, mentioned above, and creating a naturalised boulder cascade set at a similar level as the removed weir structure, extending downstream.
