The Secretary of State makes the following direction, in exercise of the power conferred by regulation 4A(1) of the Passenger Name Record Data and Miscellaneous Amendments Regulations 2018[footnote 1].

Designated independent authority

The National Border Targeting Centre Independent Compliance Governance Team is designated as the designated independent authority in relation to the Passenger Information Unit (PIU) for the purposes of the Passenger Name Record Data and Miscellaneous Amendments Regulations 2018.
