This scheme is established by regulations (the Police Pensions Regulations 2015) made under the Public Service Pensions Act 2013, which came into force on 1 April 2015.

The 2015 scheme provides for payment of pensions and other benefits to or in respect of members of a police force in England and Wales. The police pensions scheme 2015 administrators’ guide is intended to further explain the technical details in simpler terms than is used in the regulations.
