On 12 June 2020, ABP Southampton (“the applicant”) made a formal application to the Marine Management Organisation (“MMO”) under Section 14 of the Harbours Act 1964 for The Port of Southampton Harbour Revision Order (“the HRO”).

If made, the proposed HRO would grant the applicant modern powers of general and special direction. If made, the proposed HRO would also update the limits of the port to include the dock estate and would require the applicant to make available an illustrative map showing the port limits.

The HRO would also make minor amendments to local harbour legislation.

More information about the proposals can be viewed in the statement in support and the draft HRO.

The statutory 42-day public consultation on the HRO starts on 26 April 2021 and ends on 6 June 2021.
