This guidance sets out how the Protected Landscapes duty is intended to operate and provides broad principles to guide relevant authorities in complying with it.

Relevant authorities should also read the Protected Landscapes Targets and Outcomes Framework, which sets the ambition for how we expect Protected Landscapes to contribute towards our Environmental Improvement Plan (EIP) 2023.
