The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number SO/040/0015/006/R01 which authorises the abstraction of water from Denge Marsh RSPB reserve at National Grid References TR 05891 18050 and TR 06007 18152.

The variation applied for is to increase the number of abstraction points and increase the hourly rate of abstraction, but reduce the annual abstraction for the resilience of the wetland habitats.
