The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 4/30/12/*S/0295 which authorises the abstraction of water from Wyberton Pump Drain at National Grid Reference TF 35210 39740 near Wyberton, Boston, Lincolnshire.

The proposed variation is to extend the abstraction period from September to June inclusive to all year round and to increase the annual abstraction from 588,000 cubic metres per year to 599,800 cubic metres per year. There is no proposed change to the maximum daily and hourly abstraction.

The water is used to support wetland habitats at RSPB Frampton Marsh.
