The Social Security (Electronic Communications) (Amendment) Directions 2013

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Directions in accordance with paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 (electronic communications) to the Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment, Jobseeker’s Allowance and Employment Support Allowance (Claims and Payments) Regulations 2013 [footnote 1].

Citation and commencement

1.–(1) These Directions may be cited as the Social Security (Electronic Communications) (Amendment) Directions 2013.

(2) They come into force on 29 April 2013 immediately after the Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment, Jobseeker’s Allowance and Employment Support Allowance (Claims and Payments) Regulations 2013 come into force for the purposes of Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment, Jobseeker’s Allowance and Employment Support Allowance .

Amendments to the 2011 Directions

2.–(1) The Social Security (Electronic Communications) Consolidation and Amendment Directions 2011 made on the 6 December 2011[footnote 2] are amended as follows.

(2) In paragraph 2 (authorisation) –

(a) after “paragraph 2 of Schedule 9ZC to the Claims and Payments Regulations” insert “or paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment, Jobseeker’s Allowance and Employment Support Allowance (Claims and Payments) Regulations 2013”

(b) in sub-paragraph (a), for “or shared additional pension” substitute “, shared additional pension or Universal Credit”.

(3) In paragraph 4 (approved method and form), for “DirectGov” substitute “gov.uk”.
