The Trustees of Formby Ladies Golf Club has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a formal variation to an existing licence to abstract water from Sefton Coast sand dunes underground strata via a new well-point system
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 12.5 cubic metres an hour
- 225 cubic metres a day
- 24,350 cubic metres a year
Abstraction will take place all year round.
Further details are: The proposed licence variation is to authorise abstraction from a newly-installed well-point system and increase the maximum daily and yearly quantities, for the purpose of spray irrigation of the golf course.
