FLEGT reports

FLEGT reports fulfil the government’s statutory reporting requirement on the establishment of a FLEGT licensing scheme for imports of timber into the UK.

The FLEGT reports provide:

  • information on the enforcement approach
  • an update based on data provided by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), HMRC and UK Border Force (UKBF)
  • figures for license verification
  • volume of FLEGT timber being imported into the UK
  • the top five HS codes for import of FLEGT licensed timber

UKTR reports

This is the report for our UK Timber Regulation (UKTR) fulfilling our statutory reporting requirement.

The report provides information on the application of regulation (EU) No 995/2010, including the enforcement approach taken by the Office for Product Safety and Standards.

OPSS enforce the United Kingdom Timber Regulations on behalf of the Secretary of State, who is the competent authority under The Timber and Timber Products (Placing on the Market) Regulations 2013.

The UKTR report includes:

  • an update on penalties in place
  • checks on operators and traders
  • data on enforcement action
