Toby Mann has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from the watercourse locally known as Bologney River, Iken at National Grid Reference TM 42494 56364 to transfer it to drains in an area contained within the boundary formed by straight lines running between the following National Grid References: TM 42494 56364; TM 42472 56154; TM 42143 55898; TM 42064 55498; TM 41849 55644 and TM 42120 56340 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 15 cubic metres an hour

  • 350 cubic metres a day

  • 3,228 cubic metres a year

The purpose of the proposed water transfer is to maintain water levels in a wetland.
