This Trade and Agriculture Commission has ceased to operate and has been superseded by a new Trade and Agriculture Commission, which has a new role and membership.

Update from the Chair
The Chair thanked all Commission members and the Secretariat for their continued engagement and work over the festive period.
UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement
The Chair introduced a summary of the agreement. The Commission was also joined by a representative from DEFRA’s EU Strategy and Negotiations team to assist in answering any questions.
Topic areas of discussion included:
- implementation and business challenges
- rules of origin and supply chains
- devolved administration and the Northern Ireland Protocol
- checks and trade flow
International development
Following presentation of a prepared paper, the Commission discussed the implications for developing countries of regulatory barriers to trade and how the UK could help to overcome these.
