We were asked for information on Trade Union activity and funding
No payments have been made directly by the Wales Office to Trade Unions.
We do not hold any information on the monetary value of facilities provided for use by trade unions in each year since 1997.
In 2008 to 2009 – one person was designated to be involved in trade union activities and duties but used no facility time during this period.
In 2009 to 2010 – the same person, in line with the ACAS Code of Practice ‘Time off for Trades Union Duties and Activities’, spent 11 paid hours on trade union facility time activities
In 2010 to 2011 – the same person left the organisation and has yet to be replaced. No facility time has been used during this period to date.
No one was given any paid leave for trade union related duties or activities between 12 April 2010 and 7 May 2010.
No one is employed within the Wales Office to support or liaise with trade unions. Any trade union support staff may need is provided from within the wider Ministry of Justice.
Only one person spent a) 5 days or fewer on trade union related activities while being paid by the organisation in 2009 to 2010. No records are available before 2008 to 2009.
