The CMA has published its first horizon scanning report on 10 trends in digital markets and how they may develop over the next 5 years and beyond.
Building on further input from the CMA’s Digital Expert Group and additional research, the report sets out exploratory thinking about possible future developments and potential impacts of 10 digital trends on competition and consumers.
This report is the first publication from the CMA’s Technology Horizon Scanning Function, which is led jointly by its Data, Technology and Analytics unit and its Digital Markets Unit.
The emerging thinking in this report is an overview of what may be important in these markets in the coming years. It is not a set CMA position, policy or conclusion.
