Details
The way in which TB country data is accessed has been reviewed to prevent the downloading and use of out-of-date lists, and support direct access to the most current data directly from the World Health Organisation (WHO) Global TB Programme website.
The purpose of the WHO country profiles data is to help:
- check which countries have a high incidence of TB
- decide whether to give a Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccination to infants or children who meet the criteria as recommended in the Immunisation against infectious disease, chapter 32 - tuberculosis
- decide who meets the criteria for screening as part of the NHS England National latent tuberculosis infection testing and treatment programme
WHO TB country profiles and key facts are available on a mobile app, available on Android and iOS and available from the Google or Apple store. A link can be found at the bottom of WHO Global Tuberculosis Programme.
