Details
During the Turing Scheme’s first year of operation, research with participating education providers explored the effectiveness of the scheme and the extent to which it supported providers in building international links.
Research with participants explored:
- how well the funding supported them to engage in international mobility
- their perception of the short-term benefits
Participating providers were from:
- schools
- further education
- voluntary education and training
- higher education
The research included two stages:
- an initial survey of early experiences
- a subsequent survey to collect data on reflections
There were also follow-up interviews with 45 providers. A number of non-participating providers who had applied for Turing Scheme funding but were not successful were also interviewed.
Research with individuals included a survey of 2,645 participants who had finished their placement abroad. In addition there were 10 focus groups and 34 depth interviews with individuals.
