Turing Scheme funding outcomes for the 2021 to 2022 academic year

Published 13 March 2025

Overview

This publication includes sector-level and UK nation level data relating to application outcomes and funding allocation for the first year of Turing Scheme – academic year 2021 to 2022.

More detailed data about the funding results, participant demographics and the destinations of participants is available in the allocation data spreadsheet.

This information was previously held on a dedicated website which has now closed. The data contained within the tables remains the same, but some explanatory information has changed to reflect the new format.

Methodology

The data in this publication is collected from organisations when they apply for funding through the Turing Scheme. The data has been aggregated to protect personally identifiable information.

The data represents organisations’ planned placements[footnote 1] at application stage and final actual placements data, which details actual spend and number of placements from final reports received at the end of the academic year. These are referred to as “planned” and “actual” data throughout the publication.

Data quality and limitations

This data accurately reflects organisations’ final reported data and is correct as of 3 January 2024.

There are some limitations to this data. It is possible that there may be input errors or missing data as it relies on data from applications and final reports filled out by organisations.
