We have a received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following information with regards to the Gatsometer BV Type 24 Radar:

1. From what date did this method (attended actively operated in approaching mode) become authorised/approved for use by UK Police Forces?
2. Was this approval retrospective, i.e. prior to this date would a Gatsometer set up in this way have been used outside “type approval”?
3. Has the Gatsometer BV Type 24 speed measuring device been type approved for use in attendant automatically operated mode?
4. If so when did the approval occur and was it retrospective?
