This guidance supports public health practitioners to:
- identify the sources of typhoid or paratyphoid infection
- reduce the risks of secondary transmission
Use this guidance in conjunction with the accompanying template letter and factsheet, and the enteric fever enhanced surveillance questionnaire.
A previous version of the enteric fever questionnaire and online questionnaire instructions were published by Public Health England.
